The fourth edition of the Nagaland State & Para Games (NSPG) 2026 is set to bring together 2,953 athletes and 412 staff members, from all 17 districts of Nagaland. The Games, organised by the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), is scheduled to be held from 2nd to 14th November 2026 in Chümoukedima and Dimapur, under the theme "Stronger Together".
Addressing the press conference at Games Village, Nagaland Police Complex, Chümoukedima, on 1st November 2026, Chairman, IDAN & Advisor to the Chief Minister, Abu Metha, described the Games as the biggest sporting event in the state so far in terms of participation and scale. He said that the event provided an important platform to bring together the sporting talents of all 17 districts and to celebrate the youth of Nagaland.
Metha thanked Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his vision, guidance and continued support in making the fourth edition of the Games possible.
He informed that the Games will feature 14 competitive sports, which would be conducted in two phases, with seven sports in each phase. The first phase will be from 2nd to 8th November, with competitions from 3rd to 7th November; while the second phase is scheduled from 9th to 14th November, with competitions from 10th to 14th November.
Highlighting the preparations, Metha highlighted that the Games Village has been set up at the Nagaland Police Complex in Chümoukedima to accommodate the participating athletes and officials. He acknowledged that managing logistics for an event of this scale has been a major challenge, but efforts had been made to provide the best possible facilities to all participants.
The Games Village arrangements include separate dormitories for men and women, medical facilities, dining areas, a media room, reception facilities and recreational spaces. Laundry services and other necessary facilities have also been arranged for the participants. Workshops, seminars and documentary screenings focusing on sports safeguarding, particularly the safety and protection of women and children, were also among the initiatives planned for the Games.
He also informed the press about the introduction of a software-based management system to facilitate the conduct of the Games. The official digital platform, FLEG SCORE, will also be used to provide live scores, match updates, game statistics and results, enabling athletes, officials, spectators and supporters to follow the competitions.
He said the State Games served as an important platform for identifying and encouraging sporting talent, and acted as a launchpad for athletes to progress to bigger regional and national-level competitions.
He requested all the citizens to support the games, and said that the Games were not merely about competition but also about bringing the people of the State together to celebrate its young talent. He called for collective efforts and said that everyone needed to work as one team for the development of sports and the future of the youth in Nagaland.
