Niuland celebrated the recognition of the town as a full fledged Town Council on 27th November 2020 at Town Hall, Niuland with Minister PHED, Jacob Zhimomi and MLA & Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as Special Guest.

On the day, Monolith was unveiled by Minister PHED, Jacob Zhimomi and sanitation truck was flagged off by Advisor, UD & MA, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire.

Delivering his speech, Jacob thanked the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio, Advisor, UD & MA Dr. Nicky Kire and other officials who were involved in making the much awaited dream of the people of Niuland into reality.He called upon the people to come forward and give cooperation and he also requested the land owners to give full cooperation to the government to bring development in the area.Highlighting the importance of Agri and allied sectors he said Nagas are blessed with good fertile land. He called upon every individual to consider progressing in the field of Agri and allied sector as well. 

Addressing the gathering Dr. Nicky Kire pointed out the importance of 3D's, dedication, devotion and determination and urged the people to be sincere in whatever work they do. He also highlighted the importance of solid waste management and mentioned the 3R's, Recycle, Reduse and Reuse. When town grows, the solid waste also grows so we should plan carefully for the site of our solid waste he stated. 

Earlier the program was invoked by Pastor SBC Niuland Tokivi Yeptho. Welcome address was delivered by ADC Niuland Athrila. Folk song was presented by women cultural group, Niuland. Benediction was done by Associate Pastor Women Kuhoxu Baptist church, Angukali Zhimo and the program was chaired by Director, Municipal Affairs Department, Chenithung.
