Under the leadership of ADC Niuland, Sara Jamir, who serves as the Vice Chairman of DPDB Niuland, the District Planning and Development Board meeting for Niuland was held on November 20, 2023, in the conference hall of DC Niuland.

During the session, the Board unanimously agreed to submit a proposal to the Government for the inclusion of Niuland District under the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ). DC Niuland informed the members that although a similar proposal was presented in 2014, Niuland was not included in NSDZ. She highlighted Niuland's strategic geographical position, touching the Foothill road, the proposed Showuba to Pangsha 2-lane road, and several other key routes.

To garner support for this proposal, a meeting was held with stakeholders, including GBs, VCs, and landowners. DC Niuland stated that the people of Niuland have agreed in principle to the inclusion under NSDZ, emphasizing the necessity for development in the district.

Other crucial agendas included the approval of society registration for Zoe Theatre and Art Association, Nihoto village, the upgradation of GMS Zutoi to GHS under Aghunaqa circle, and the recognition of Anato village. The House recommended these proposals to higher authorities for necessary action.

ADC Niuland, Athsangla Yimkhum, highlighted the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, emphasizing its role as a national awareness campaign to disseminate information on various schemes and enroll potential beneficiaries. For Niuland district, the yatra is scheduled to commence on December 20 and conclude on January 25, 2023.

A PowerPoint presentation by the H&FW department showcased the activities of the Health profile under the Niuland district during the meeting.

Sara Jamir sought cooperation from all officers and appealed to district HODs holding dual charges to contribute equally, fostering the Niuland district's self-sufficiency.

The meeting concluded with a note of thanks from the Chairperson.
