Secretary to Government of Nagaland for Excise & E/Roll Observer for Phek District, Kevekha Kevin Zehol visited Phek and held a meeting with all political parties in the office Chamber of DC & DEO Phek on 19th December 2022.
Speaking at the meeting, Kevin urged the leaders of political parties in the District to cooperate in maintaining a clean electoral roll and help spread awareness about one's right to vote. Secretary also conveyed a message to the new and prospective voters to take the opportunity and participate in the electoral process.
At the meeting DC & DEO Phek, Kumar Ramnikant IAS asserted that political parties play a vital role in maintaining a clean electoral roll. He, therefore, reminded the party leaders that those duplicate voters should be deleted and all the eligible voters should be enrolled, where voters should get their EPIC linked with their Aadhaar numbers voluntarily, DC said.
ADC & ERO Phek, T. Moa Lemtor shared issues about demographically similar entries and photo similar entries in the District, for which ERO reminded the leaders of various political parties and sought cooperation and support for carrying out effective verification exercises in the District, so that clean electoral roll could be maintained.
Later, Zehol visited polling stations (Chosaba and Phek Village) under the 19th Phek Assembly Constituency, where interaction meetings were conducted with the BLOs and village council members.
