Nagaland State Commission for Women, Chairperson W. Nginyeih Konyak along with members Kekhrienuo Meyase, Akokla Longchar and Legal Consultant, Apila Sangtam visited Longleng on 9-10th of November 2023.The NSCW Officials hold a meeting with Phomla Hoichem for discussion on various issues.

The team along with Phomla Hoichem members and EAC Sadar visited District Hospital and interacted with medical officers and nurses and took a tour of the hospital wards. The team also visited the Women Police Station and Sakhi- One Stop Centre at Longleng. During the visit various challenges faced by the institutions with regard to women welfare and protection of their rights were discussed and the need of various mechanisms to address the issue of women affected by violence and substance abuse.

Konyak emphasised the need to create more awareness on various issues such as cybercrime, domestic violence and providing a safe medium for afflicted women. She also encouraged Phomla Hoichem (apex women organization of Phom) to continue to play an active role in collaboration with the District Administration, Police and other line departments to promote and protect women welfare and empowerment.

The team also visited and interacted with officials and female inmates at District Jail, Longleng. Konyak reiterated the need to strengthen rehabilitation services and emphasised the importance of the role of district administration, police, and Phomla Hoichem and their collective efforts to tackle the menace of substance abuse in the district.

The Commission also paid a courtesy visit to the SP office, Longleng.
