The 61st Statehood Day of Nagaland was celebrated at Nagaland House, 29- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi on 1st December 2023. Chief Resident Commissioner, New Delhi and Additional Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Jyoti Kalash IAS was the chief guest of the programme held, with the officers and staff of Nagaland House joining in the celebration.

Observing the special occasion, the Chief Resident Commissioner took Rashtriya Salute from the4th NAP Battalion Wazirabad. Addressing the gathering, Jyotish Kalash also greeted the people on the Hornbill Festival 2023, which will begin on 1st December at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama and shared that in his interactions with Diplomats on their experience of the Hornbill Festival many have fond memories of it. He stated that the State has come a long way, with the State now linked to all the major cities in the country through railways and airways he encouraged more youngsters to venture outside the State for studies, work, and seize the opportunities that are available outside the state.
