Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched in the Naga Shopping Arcade, Dimapur on 8thDecember, 2023.

Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur speaking as the Special Guest during the launch said that ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ was launched by the Prime Minister of India to promote central schemes. Chang said the main objective for the yatra is to spread awareness to the grassroots level of the various central schemes available for both rural and urban areas. Chang said that there are about 17 schemes available for urban bodies and encouraged the people living in urban areas to take the opportunity of the yatra and to avail themselves of various schemes.

He also encouraged the public leaders and the media to create awareness of the schemes and to disseminate about the schemes to the general public. The DC also led in taking the “Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat“pledge during the launching of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Dimapur.

W. Manpai Phom, Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council in his welcome address said that the Yatrawas was launched for urban areas starting from Dimapur from 8th December, 2023 but in rural areas it was started from 15th November 2023. He said that the yatra was launched with the aim to create awareness and to reach out to citizens in urban areas who are eligible for various central schemes but have not benefitted so far.

Dr. Rant Pandurang, Deputy Director General of Shipping, Mumbai and District Prabhari for Dimapur andChumukedima said that the basic idea behind the yatra is to reach the unreached people and to listen to the people about their experience. He said that the yatra will disseminate to the public the various central schemes being provided to the people.

Rita Ghosh and T. Onen Jamir, GB shared their success stories (Meri Kahani Meri Zubani) and apprised the gathering of receiving bank loans and affordable housing loans under PM Svanidhi and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

During the Yatra on spot registration and services like health camp (screening of TB, Sickle Cell and Anemia); registration of PM Ujjwala Yojana ( PMUY), Ayushman Bharat, and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana ( PMSBY) was held.
