Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS administered the Oath of Affirmation to the 23 newly elected members of the Dimapur Municipal Council at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, on 5th July 2024. The ceremony was conducted in accordance with Section 60A of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023,

            Chang congratulated the newly elected Members/councillors on behalf of the Dimapur District administration and termed the day as historic noting that the election was held after a gap of 20 Years with 33% reservation for women for the first time. He expressed optimism that the councillors would work with sincerity for the development of Dimapur. The ceremony saw a total of twenty three (23) councillors from the Dimapur Municipal Council taking the Oath of Affirmation and signing of the oath namely;

Following the oath-taking, an election was conducted for the positions of Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Council. Hukheto Yepthomi from NDPP was elected as the Chairperson and Imlinaro Stephanie Ezung from NDPP was elected as the Deputy Chairperson.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Moatoshi Longkumer, Advisor, Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Excise, W. Manpai Phom NCS, Administrator DMC Dimapur and other officials.
