Pungro sub-division celebrated its 75th Republic day at Public Ground, Pungro, Kiphire with unfurling of the national flag by Advisor of New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA (Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority), Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe. He delivered the Republic Day speech and inspected the march past contingents under Parade Commander ABSI Sheto Rhakho. 

The parade contingents comprised of Village Guard of Pungro and Phuvkiu Village, Christian School, Little Flower School, Mt. Horeb Baptist School. Entertainment programme includes ‘Desh Mera’ by Miss Tsuyinla, folk song by Shotang Berii Pungro Town and martial arts demonstration by Taekwondo Association Pungro. The event continued with the felicitation ceremony and a special number by Hantsula. This was followed by inauguration of Open Penalty shoot-out.
