The meeting of the State-Level Committee for Mission Shakti was held under the Chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Dr. J. Alam, IAS on the 25th June of 2024 at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary, New Secretariat, Kohima. In attendance were AHODs and representatives from various converging departments.
Secretary, Social Welfare, Martha R. Ritse, IAS, while giving an introduction to Mission Shakti, provided an overview of the 100 Days Special Awareness Campaign under SANKALP–Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) on Women Centric Schemes, launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, which will run from 21st June to 4th October 2024.
The key objective is to ensure that women across the country are made aware of initiatives of the Government, and to enable them to access the resources and support available to them. Under the banner of SANKALP-HEW & Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), special awareness campaigns are being carried out in all 16 districts of Nagaland. The State Level Committee members participated in the program, and the Chief Secretary emphasized that this 100-day awareness campaign should be effectively carried out on the ground.
Presentations were made on the status of the implementation of Mission Shakti Scheme in the State, and the Annual State Action Plan for Mission Shakti for the Financial Year 2024-25, which was approved.
Joint deliberation was held to strengthen convergent action plan for implementation of various Mission Shakti Schemes which include SANKALP-HEW, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sakhi-One Stop Centre, 181-Women Helpline, Pradhan Mantri Mantru Vandana Yojana, Palna, Sakhi Niwas, and Shakti Sadan).
