Wokha District Planning & Development Board welcomed its new DPDB Chairman & MLA, Y.M. Humtsoe. The board welcomed the new chairman during the monthly DPDB meeting held at DC conference hall, Wokha on 19th July 2024.
Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the State Government for appointing him as the chairman of DPDB, Wokha. He appealed all the board members to extend full co-operation for the successful implementation of the government policies and schemes for the benefit of the district. He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing chairman and Advisor for Agri. Mhathung Yanthan for bringing the board to a robust and active entity and bringing so many changes in the district during his tenure.
The new Chairman also directed all the Head of Offices in the district to attend the board meeting regularly so that no board members should have an adverse remark while serving in the district.
While felicitating the newly elected (ULB) Wokha Town Council members during the meeting, the chairman congratulating the newly elected WTC members also appealed to give their best to bring change in the district.
The board also felicitated the winners of the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic 2024 in various disciplines representing Wokha district.
SP, Wokha, Aotula T Imchen (IPS) highlighted on the introduction of the new criminal laws to its members. The board also approved and recommended the following society for registration to the government are: Integer Society Pangti, Wokha district Areca Nut growers Association, Longzu Welfare Society Chukitong and Wokha District Athletics Association. The board discussed and approved the schemes under Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2024-25.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board expressed their reservation on the progress of the damaged portion of Wokha- Merapani road, where the NIHDCL has assured the board that the restoration and repair of roads will be taken up within 10 day. In this regard, the board urged the company to take up the project earnestly at the earliest.
