State College of Teacher Education, Kohima held its 1st Graduation day program on 2nd August at the State College of Teacher Education, Kohima. Conferring of Degrees was presented by Graduation guest Pro-Vice Chancellor Nagaland University, Kohima Campus Prof. Gleen T. Thong. Altogether there were 46 Graduates for 2024 batch.

Asserting that a new chapter has begun for the Graduates, Prof. Gleen T. Thong said with the degree you have earn you need to be innovative, hardworking, discipline and should be willing to take risk in order to achieve success in life. He asked the Graduates, whether they are going to be just another teacher or a teacher who can usher for a change that our society needs so desperately. He said many people have succeeded challenges in life today because there were teachers who have guided and shape them.

Exhorting the graduates he said, besides your training you have huge responsibilities to play in shaping the young students for our future Generation. Teachers should educate their students on issues like environmental awareness, community participations, biodiversity protection for ecological balance management to save our planet Earth from further destruction. He called upon to teach our students to reduce our wants and consumption, and cited the example of why should I have ten cars in my compound when two cars can attend to my needs.                                                 

Prof. Glenn also call on the Graduates that you are the right person to create awareness on issue which need urgent intervention. He congratulated all the Graduates and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours. 

Presentation of special award was done by HOD Teacher Education Dept. Nagaland University, Prof. Gyanendra Nath Tiwari while Principal SCTE-K Dr. Elizabeth Walling spoke on the Congratulatory note. Welcome address was delivered by Vice Principal SCTE-K Dr. Runi Nakro and Words of gratitude by Convener Committee Dr. Neizekhonuo Liesietsu, Earlier Director SCERT, Keviraleu Kerhuo released the College Magazine.
