Along with the rest of the Country, Tuensang HQ celebrated 78th Independence Day with Advisor Information Technology & Communication, Economic and Statistics and Evaluation, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam as the Chief Guest on 15th August 2024 at Parade Ground, Tuensang.

After unfurling the National Flag and Rashtriya Salute the Chief Guest delivering the Independence Day Speech. A total of 16 Parade Contingents from DEF Tuensang, 3rd NAP Tuensang, VG Tuensang Village, Ex. Servicemen, VG Konya Village, NCC Sao Chang College, NCC St. John Hr. Secondary School, NCC GHSS Hakushang, NCC GHSS Thangjam, Scout and Guide Bethesda, NCC Akum Imlong School, Saramatian Bharat Scout and Guide, NCC GHSS Chaba School, 3rd NAP Band and Hauyang Band with Parade Commander Thingbem Thomsong SDPO, Tuensang and 2nd in Command Imti Chang ABI, Tuensang.

Highlighted of the function includes, Pledge for Drug Free Nagaland, Presentation of District Commendation Award, Culture Presentation from Changing Cultural Troupe, Sangli Dancing Troupe, Kemifu Yimkhiung Cultural Troupe and Khiamniungan Culture Troupe, Special Number by GHSS Tuensang, Dog Show by 29th Assam Rifles, Tuensang and Inauguration of Exhibition stalls by the Chief Guest.

After the Programme the Chief Guest accompanied by the DPDB members, Tuensang visited Relief Camp at Tuensang Village C/Khel and P/Khel.
