The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Kiphire with Advisor Land Resources, G. Ikuto Zhimomi as the special guest at public ground, Kiphire, on 15h August 2024.The special guest unfurled the National Flag and took the Rastriya Salute from the 11th contingents and delivered the Independence Day Speech. The parade was led by parade commander Asst. Commandant, M. Petovi Sema E / 3rd NAP Kiphire. The winner in the parade contingents was 1st NCC girls, 2nd GHSS and 3rd Bharat Guides Kiphire.

Prize was also distributed to Horticulture Farmer of the year Award 2024 to Tsalembi Issac, Kiphire under Integrated Farming, Renbow, Phuvikiu under Fruit cultivation, Hotoyi, Pungro under vegetable cultivation, Yinri village Level Organisation, Penkim under scientific, mulching technique. Winner in 3rd are Alim Yimchunger Penkim under vegetable nursery management. 2nd prize: Jumusu T. Tethuyo under Onion production and 1st prize:Yantsala , Sitimi under Food processing and value Addition.
In District Level Quiz Competition 2024 Kiphire was also awarded to Tsapila class 7 from GHSS Kiphire for securing 1st.and from class 8, Ashutan Louis and Kamrila for securing 1st in the Quiz Competition for Elementary under RAA, from GHSS Kiphire organised by Samagra Shiksha Kiphire.
Other highlights of the day long program included presentation of Entertainment Mera Mulk Meri Dash by Wongto (Star Gaze).Aerobic Dance by Agape Hr.Sec School Kiphire, Potato song by Sentinungba Longchar, DHO Kiphire and flash mob by RRC Loyala Hr.Sec School Kiphire.
Cultural presentation from 1. Amahator Village Dancing Troupe, 2." Thishei" Eastern Sumi HoHo Totimi Loka, kiphire. 3.Tikhir Students Union Kiphire Town,and Kiphire Village Atparu.
After the program, the Special Guest inaugurated and inspected the exhibition stalls set up by various government departments and civil societies. And also visited the District Hospital KTCCI and District Jail : SBI Kiphire.
Exhibition Football match was played between New Ageis FC - VS - United Vikings FC, and the celebration ended with the Beating of Retreat by DEF, Kiphire at 16 : 30 hrs.The Comperers were Martha , Asst. Professor ZPC, and Longtise, Asst.Professor ZPC , Kiphire.
