MLA, P Longon unfurled the national flag and took a Rashtriya Salute from 9 Parade Contingents at public ground, Noklak on 15th of August 2024 during the 78th Independence Day celebration at Noklak.

The Parade Contingents consisting of 3rd NAP & DEF Noklak, Village Guard Nokyan Village, Village Guard Tsuwao Village, NCC GHSS, Noklak, NCC GHS Noklak Village, Holy Angels School Noklak, Christian High School Noklak, St. Paul School Noklak, and Frontier Piper Band Nagaland Village Guard.

Earlier, P. Longon read out the Independence Day speech during the occasion and later, inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments consisting of Agri. District Administration, Horticulture, Sericulture, Rural development, Handloom & handicraft, Health & Family, Land Resource, BYE Lengnyu Village and Self Help Groups union Noklak town.

Other highlights of the day were review of Parade by SP, Niklak, Bamboo Dance by KGBV Hostellers, Skills Display by Noklak District Taekwondo Association and Folk Dance by Tsuwao Village Guards. Institutional visit was done at District Hospital, Noklak and Adora Children’s Home, Noklak. In the evening session, an exhibition football match was played and the programme ended with a band retreat.
