The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Niuland Town with Minister for Rural Development & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir as the Chief guest on 15th of august 2024.

The Minister unfurled the National Flag and took the Rastriya salute from 12 different contingents. The contingents were led by the parade commander Deputy SP, James Jami, SDPO Niuland.

The celebration witnesses a spectacular special presentation of Karate demonstration from Regional Hughes Shaw Memorial School, Drill display from Shepherd High School and Band display from 7 AR. Thishole & Lejole Folks songs were also presented by Kuhoxu village Women cultural troupe and Niuland Town Sumi Totimi Loka respectively.

The chief guest also inaugurated the exhibition stall setup by various departments and organizations.
