The 78th Independence Day celebration was held in Seyochung HQ, Kiphire at Public Ground on 15th August 2024 with MLA, Dr. Sukhato A Sema as Special Guest. The Special Guest unfurled the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day speech and also took salute from parade contingents comprised of Shothumi 'A' and Shothumi 'B' Village Guard, St. Mary's High School Led by its parade contingents Commander ABSI Yangpokyu Sangtam 14th (IR) and 2 i/c Havildar T. Alemba Sangtam, DEF Kiphire.

Other highlights included Special Number by N. Ikato Yepthomi and Special presentation from St. Mary's High School, Cultural Dance and Patriotic dance.

The Special Guest also formally inaugurated the Exhibition stall put up by Agri. & Allied department, Sikkim SHG from Natsami Village, Yangzitong (B) Village SBAK Aizuto Sunday School Department, the Medical Team and Nagaland District Administration Employees Association (NDAEA) Kiphire unit. All the Head of Officers, public leaders, GBs & DBs, VCC, and NGOs attended the function.
