The 78th Indian Independence Day was celebrated at Local Ground, Tizit on 15th August 2024 with Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak as the Special Guest.

Earlier, the Special Guest hoisted the National Flag and took Salute and read out the Independence Day speech

Highlights of the celebration were inspection of parade contingents by the Advisor, National Anthem by Amity School Tizit, Parade Review by Commandant, 6th NAP Bn, Tizit, Patriotic Dance:  by Holy Trinity School, Tizit, Hope Plant School, Tizit, Don Bosco School Tizit, Bamboo Dance by Zennon Memorial School, Tizit and sweet distribution by CDPO Office, Tizit.

Advisor, also Administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge and kicked off a Penalty shootout under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and also inaugurated exhibition cum sale stalls put up by Grace VLO, Tizit village, Jonghah VLO, Tizit village, Jatshei VLO, Lapa Lampong village, Mentong VLO, Nangting village under Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, Department of Rural Development, Primary Health Centre, Tizit and veterinary Service.

The day was also marked by hoisting of National Flag in all government offices and Educational Institutions. Altogether 16 contingents participated in the March Past.
