The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kiphire, in collaboration with the 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), conducted a comprehensive Community Awareness Program on 24th August 2024 at Pungro village council hall. The program was aimed at educating and creating awareness among citizens about how to respond effectively to various disaster scenarios.
The event saw active participation from stakeholders, including the VDMA of various villages such as Vongti, New Vongti, Jenny, and Tekevong villages, representatives from youth and women groups, the Students Union, Nagaland Village Guards, and church workers. The collaborative effort was a part of ongoing initiatives to strengthen community preparedness and resilience against natural and man-made disasters. During the program, the 12th Battalion NDRF provided detailed demonstrations and training sessions on emergency response techniques, emphasizing the importance of timely and coordinated actions during disasters
