Capacity Building & Training on Tour Guiding & Homestays, organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland in collaboration with Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA) coinciding with the Mungmung Festival at Hopongkyu Memorial hall, Kiphire on 2nd September 2024.

Sr. Tourist Officer, Phek, S. Peter Trakha in his keynote speech said that, the Tourism Department is trying to promote and developed tourism events in the districts and rural areas, and appealed to the local community to participate, to promote their cultural activities for sustainable development and to reduce poverty, inequality and to strengthen the local economy.

His Team of Officers also highlighted on the Topic, Tourism potential in Nagaland, Tour Guiding as a profession and Homestay as a Business and interactions with the youth during the discussion sessions.

K. Aliba Sangtam, President USLP in his welcome address extended his warm welcome and regards to the officers of Tourism and Nagaland Tourism Association Team for coming all the way to Kiphire. Asserting that, he had a great expectation from the Tourism Department he said it would be an important event as this is the first Mungmung Festival celebrating with the Tourism Department at Kiphire. He also wished Happy Mungmung to the guest and participants.
