The inaugural of the 53rd Games and Sports Meet 2025 of the Angami Sports Association was held at I.G Stadium, Kohima on 6th February 2025 with DC, Kohima Kumar Ramnikant, IAS as the special guest.

Exhorting the players, Kumar highlighted that Games and sports has become a very important field in today’s life, where players can make a career through sports unlike before and said It can be a full time occupation. Asserting that the event is not just a sport but it’s a movement, the DC said the young players need the right platform and advised for polishing to become the best player. He also urged the players to devote their time and energy to become better sportspersons. A player should be well discipline to challenge and represent our country with good team spirit, He added

President ASA, Ruokuovikho Chale in his Presidential address extended his salutation to all the leaders, players and all the pillars who donated, contributing in the larger interest of the present-day generations of brotherhood and the generations to come. He mentioned that Angami Sports Association is a platform, it is a brotherhood Sports Meet, it is not just games and sports but inside it is a movement with much endurance and respect.

Citing that it provides equal opportunity to every rich and poor, he highlighted that this tournament Selection starts at the Khel Level to Village to Group and to the ranges such as Chakhroma Youth Organisation, Western Youth Organisation, Northern Angami Sports Association, Southern Angami Sports Association. He also acknowledged the leaders, unsung heroes who sincerely played the role of patriotism in promoting the youth for whom we are here today. He said these are the youth, the Angamis best youth of the time, standing before us, they are the most capable, most intellectual and physically and mentally fit. He impressed upon all the boys and girls to focus on the leader's guidance and advice for the days to come.
