            The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Dimapur held its first meeting of the year on 11th February 2025, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Dimapur. The meeting was chaired by H. Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA & Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, with Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB, Dimapur, initiating the discussions.

Ayemi extended a warm welcome to all attendees, acknowledging that this was the first DPDB meeting of the year as no meeting had been held in January. While recognizing that some officers had other commitments, he encouraged greater sincerity in attendance, particularly among senior officers, to ensure effective coordination and progress.

Ayemi expressed his appreciation for their role and looked forward to their contributions. He also thanked all officers and board members for their dedication and hard work toward the district’s development.

He emphasized the importance of active participation in DPDB meetings and urged district heads to attend regularly, highlighting that their insights and inputs were crucial in shaping Dimapur’s growth. Concluding his address, Ayemi encouraged members to engage actively in discussions and share their views for a productive session.

Two new members, Limatoshi Changkiri, SE, Excise Department, and Imnanukshi, Joint RCS, Cooperation were welcomed by Dr. Tinojongshi Chang during the meeting. 

The key agendas discussed during the meeting were: The board agreed to change the location for the Iconic Project under Dimapur-I A/C, and the proposal was forwarded for further approval from the Government. In regards to Registrations of Society, Jingkhu Welfare Society and Word of Faith Ministry were approved and forwarded to the concerned department for approval.

The Transport Department gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting key safety initiatives. The next presentations will be made by the Health & Family Welfare Department and the Economic & Statistics Department.

The expansion of the road at West Yard Colony between Hokishe Sema Road and Marwari Patti Road was also discussed and it was decided that the administration will write to the Army authorities at Rangapahar regarding the matter.

The board decided that DPDB meetings will be held on the 20th of every month. If the date falls on a holiday, the meeting will take place on the next working day.

The board also discussed with regards to the shortage of non-judicial stamps in Dimapur affecting the public, especially the students. It was highlighted that although there are 55-56 licensed vendors, many do not have proper shops, leading to frequent shortages in the market. To address this, the district administration will conduct surprise inspections to ensure vendors operate from their designated locations. Additionally, the board discussed the possibility of making non-judicial stamps available digitally to ease accessibility for the public.

The meeting concluded with discussions on streamlining the distribution process of non-judicial stamps and ensuring strict compliance with licensing regulations.

The renaming of St. Anthony’s School to Potentia School, Nagarjan, Dimapur, and registration of Tsunshiso Cultural Society was deferred to next meeting.
