A two-day program - EduConnect: career sensitivity program commenced on 7th March, 2025 at Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Speaking as a special guest, EAC Dimapur, Litsuthung Kikon said the program is specially organised for the benefit of the students at large and has taken the initiative with different institutes to facilitate the admission procedure and guide them to choose the right career. It is also to let the students give light on the different career prospects that the young minds can undertake after completion of their basic degree studies.
Citing that having the right guidance and the approaches is essential for choosing the right career for oneself, he reminded the students to embark on a whole new journey regarding their career where they will be exposed to many different fields to explore their preferences.
He also urged them to be attentive, utilize this opportunity especially on those facilities provided by the government in collaboration with the colleges and the institutes to get a clear idea of choosing the right career or degrees.
Asserting that just attaining the degree is insufficient for a person to keep up a livelihood, he urged the students to incorporate different life skills at an early stage of their life, learn skills which will be practical for all of them at a later stage. He informed that the program is solely for generating awareness and wishes the students to have a productive and enlightening session.
Under secretary, IDAN, I. Changsang, NCS in his opening remark said that the team of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) assures the participants that the recorded session will be made available to schools and colleges and requested the Additional Director of School Education to make sure that all the schools and colleges in the state are made available the recorded session of what is going to take place.
He also assured them that the IDANoffice will be open for any kind of interactive session and said that the recorded session will also help the far-flung districts to boost their initiatives that the organizing team is initiating for the benefit of the students.
He remarked that career is a choice to build our lives and this EduConnect is an annual program that provides platforms for their career, he urged the students to participate during their three months of the waiting period, where they will have time to reflect on and to ponder which career they choose.
He asserted that the purpose of this program is to bridge the gap between education and career choices, helping the students to make an informed decision, so that students can choose the right career. In today’s fast-changing world, the right career path requires clarity, exposure and guidance, so EduConnect has taken an initiative for students to equip them with knowledge and confidence to prepare for the next stage of their life. Keeping this in mind, the expert mentors, especially professionals are brought together to provide this networking, he said.
Highlights of the session program included a focused sharing session from representative colleges of Holy Grace institute, Kerala; Sridevi Institute of Engineering & Technology; Manipal Academy of Higher Education; Vellore Institute of Technology and COER University, Roorkee about their campus facilities, courses etc. The Pinnacle Skills- Skill Education and SBI -Education loan also spoke at the session. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Additional Director, School Education.
