A farewell programme in honour of the outgoing Director of Horticulture, Meyasashi was held at the conference hall, Directorate of Horticulture on 30th April 2025 with Minister for WRD & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse as the special guest.

            The outgoing Director, Meyasashi in his farewell speech highlighted a brief history about the duties he performed and training he imparted while serving both in the directorate and the districts he was posted. He also highlighted the achievements the department achieved as a result of interactions with farmers and visitation to farms and crops. Sharing his experience and meetings with various business personnel, he observed that marketing cells and processing units needs to be set up in the districts as he had learned that there were varieties of fruits and vegetables from different districts that has the potentiality to be exported not only nationally but also internationally and suggested for introduction of schemes and projects that would profits both the state and the farmers. He called upon all officers and staffs of the department to continue to work for the welfare of the department and the people of the state.

Minister for WRD & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse described the outgoing Director, Meyasashi as a dynamic officer with integrity, commitment, excellence and knowledgeable leader that have lifted the department to achieve the Best State in Horticulture 2024. She asserted that the outgoing Director, Meyasashi has left behind a legacy and called upon the officers and staff of the department to be inspired by the good work he has left behind.

          Short speeches were also delivered by Secretary Horticulture, Akumla Chuba, IAS; Additional Director, Horticulture, Ayieno Hibo; Joint Director Horticulture, S. Senka; Registrar Horticulture, A. Temjen Lkr; DHO Wokha, Aoimrong and Executive Engineer, Engineer Wing Horticulture, Er. Talitemsu Jamir.

The programme was chaired by Joint Director, Medemshiba, while vote of thanks was proposed by Joint Director Horticulture, Talimongba.
