The Indian Red Cross Society, Longleng District Branch, celebrated Red Cross Day on 8th May 2025, at the Deputy Commissioner's, Conference Hall, Longleng.

Dr. B. Henshet Phom, Vice-President of the IRCS Longleng Branch, welcomed the new Chairman, W. Manpai Phom, Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, and the new Office Assistant, Philip Nyam. Dr. Henshet also read out the World Red Cross Day speech of Akhale V. Khamo, General Secretary, IRCS, Nagaland Branch at the program.

The new IRCS Chairman, W. Manpai Phom, speaking on the theme “On the side of Humanity,” highlighted the rich history of the Red Cross Society, emphasizing the organization’s founding principles of humanity. He expressed gratitude to the members of the Red Cross for their dedication to this noble cause and encouraged them to be always prepared to offer voluntary service. He also stressed the importance of community service and humanitarian work.

The program was chaired by N. Shauhong Phom, MC member. A special song was presented by Denaok Mukho, and the vote of thanks was delivered by, Philip Nyam. The event was attended by patrons and life members of the IRCS, Dobashis and Students from Phom Lempong Higher Secondary School, and well-wishers.

The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment and enthusiasm among the members to continue the Red Cross's humanitarian work in the community.
