The District Administration, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Kohima (DHEW) and Kohima District Badminton Association (KDBA), held the concluding program of the two-week Badminton coaching camp for girls under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on 7th July 2025. The initiative was conducted from 23rd June to 7th July 2025 at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Thegabakha, Kohima.

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, graced the program as the special guest and stated that it is important to identify one’s interests and talents by attending camps and programs such as this. He also encouraged the participants to excel in their academic studies while cultivating their talents in sports and other fields. He urged the participants to be consistent and expressed hope that through this camp, they would go on to win medals and awards in the field of badminton and make Kohima district proud.

Kesoneinuo Kense, Gender Specialist, DHEW Kohima, highlighted the BBBP scheme and its activities. Khriekuonuo Khezhie, Women Secretary, KDBA, presenting the summary report and statistics of the coaching camp, stated that girl students between the ages of 8 to 15 years participated, and sports shoes and racquets were also provided to the participants in need.

Participation certificates and cash prizes were presented to all participants of the coaching camp, and the concluding remark was given by the VP, Administration, KDBA, Kekhrie Pfukha.

The program was chaired by Secretary, KDBA, Seto Khate, and the invocation was led by Pastor, Chandmari Fellowship, Kohima Ao Baptist Church, Dr. S.N. Among Jamir.
