Meeting of the District Level Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA), Mokokchung was held on 14th July 2025, at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung.

Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha & Chairperson, DISHA, S. Supongmeren Jamir in his speech said DISHA which is an initiative of the Central Government which  have been formed to ensure better coordination among all the elected representatives in Parliament, State Legislatures and Local Government for efficient and time-bound development with special focus on monitoring the implementation of non statutory schemes of the Government of India at the district level and to promote participative governance and deliberative democracy.

He maintained that the objective of the meeting is to create awareness among all sections of the people, especially the grass root level, about the schemes which are reviewed and monitored under DISHA that includes a wide range of sectors like Agriculture, Rural Development, Social Welfare and infrastructure.

Jamir said DISHA acts like a bridge between the government and the people, ensuring that development initiatives are effectively implemented and reach the intended beneficiaries.

In the meeting PowerPoint Presentations were given by Project Director, DRDA on PMAY & MGNREGA, Executive Engineer PHED on JJM, District Programme Officer, ICDS on ICDS, District Agriculture Officer on PMKSY and District Education Officer on SSA.

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS delivered the welcome address while Project Director, DRDA, Imyapangla delivered the vote of thanks. The meeting was attended by Head of Offices in the District, representatives from the NGOs, members from the Mokokchung Municipal Council and Chairman of village councils.
