Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata, campaign Kohima division in collaboration with District Administration Tseminyu, Kithagha Students Union and Tseminyu Green District Initiatives organised a clean-up and plastic waste segregation drive at Chunlika block PWMU on 9th August 2025 at KSU, KS & PA building Chunlika.
The program was graced by ADC & Convenor of Tseminyu Green District Initiatives, Kikumsangla Jamir as special guest. In her keynote address, she stated that Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata is a joint initiative of the department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Culture as a part of the 79th Independence Day celebration.
The campaign aims to blend the spirit of patriotism with community led cleanliness actions. She urged village leaders, councils and students to adopt a habit of reducing plastic waste at its source and to ensure that government assets, such as the plastic waste management unit constructed by the department of PHE, Kohima rural division are made fully operational for the benefits of public health and environment. Appreciating the vision of the Tseminyu Green District Initiatives, she also expressed hope that other district would replicate this model across the state.
Talks on plastic hazards were delivered by District Coordinator (PHE) Kohima Division, Ashale Seb and Co-convener (TGDI) Zukia Woch. During the dive, the volunteer clean-up stream, highway and public spaces, collecting a truck load of plastic waste for storage at the PWMU. Volunteers also joined the selfie moment to mark the campaign.
The program was chaired by President Kithagha Students Union, Jesenlo Seb while Pastor Nyikeya Tep of Kithagha Union Baptist Church invoked the presence of God for the program and its activities.
