Deputy Chief Minister & Chairman District Planning and Development Board, Wokha, Yanthungo Patton chaired the Wokha DPDB meeting held on 27th August 2025 at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha, with Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Vineet Kumar IAS and SP Wokha, Relo Aye.
Patton congratulated Wokha district for bringing several laurels to the district with their outstanding performances in recent times. He handed over a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Government to the DC Wokha, for the significant milestone achieved by the district, securing 1st position at the State level and 4th position at the National level during the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) enrolment drive held recently.
Patton further expressed pride towards the Taekwondo Wokha team for securing 3rd place during the Nagaland Taekwondo Championship held at Longleng and felicitated the coach of the team.
DC Wokha, Vineet Kumar, briefed the members with regard to the ongoing joint eviction drive, and highlighted the timelines and steps taken by the Government in ensuring that Naga people are not affected during the drive, the evicted immigrants do not enter the Nagaland side, and peace and tranquillity is maintained at the border areas, while keeping the sensitivity of people in mind.
Kumar also informed that the Government was in close coordination with the Assam counterparts with regard to the ongoing issue. He further highlighted that due to complexities involved in the border issues, it needs to be handled with sensitivity by everyone.
The House approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2025-26 and also approved registration of the Wokha CSR Society.
Social Welfare and Urban Development departments presented their departmental activities, achievements and way forward with the aid of power point.
The meeting ended with a note of thanks from DC Wokha.
