The District Administration Niuland and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) organized a significant awareness session at Platinum College, Nihokhu Village as part of the ongoing 10-day special awareness campaign under Sankalp on 9th September 2025. The session centered on empowering women through higher education, vocational training, and skill development initiatives, aiming to equip young women with tools for success in their personal and professional lives.
Resource Person Kelengunuo Solo, EAC, delivered an inspiring talk on the theme Women empowerment encouraging students to cultivate leadership qualities and sharpen their decision-making skills, particularly in the context of career opportunities and workplace dynamics. Her address highlighted the importance of education and skill enhancement in enabling women to contribute effectively in various fields.
The event was well-attended, with the Principal and Vice Principal of Platinum College Nihokhu present among the students. The session fostered an interactive environment, motivating young women to pursue their goals with confidence.
As part of the event's engaging activities, a photo booth was set up at the college campus, allowing students to take memorable photographs, capturing the spirit of empowerment and camaraderie. Additionally, recognizing the importance of reaching out to working women, a photo booth was also arranged at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Niuland, providing an opportunity for working women to participate and connect with the Sankalp initiative.
The awareness session reflected the commitment of the District Administration Niuland and DHEW to promoting women's empowerment through initiatives like Sankalp, touching different segments of society including students and working women.
