The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September was held on 10th September 2025 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Zunheboto, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS.
The meeting began with a welcome address to the newly inducted board members. Following this, the DC reviewed the agenda of the previous DPDB meeting.
Further, the proposal for the correction of the spelling Sütsa, which was earlier spelled as Sütsah, as received from the Sumi Literature Board, was discussed. Chairman of the Sumi Literature Board, Vihoshe Muru, apprised the members of the significance and meaning behind the correction of the spelling.
As Chairman of the District Sports Council, the DC announced that the annual Inter-Departmental Sports Week, which has been organized since 2010, will be held in the second week of October 2025. He appealed to all Heads of Departments under Zunheboto District to attend the Sports Week without fail.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner discussed various district-related issues with the members, urging departments to bring innovative ideas to improve governance in the district. He also highlighted the issue of stray cattle and deliberated on corrective measures to prevent them from entering populated areas.
The meeting concluded with a presentation by Urban Development Officer, Y. Kunyangse, on the various development activities being undertaken and proposed by the Urban Development Department, Government of Nagaland, in Zunheboto District.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Commissioner thanked all members for their active participation and encouraged continuous cooperation among departments for the overall progress of the district.
