In celebration of the 90th Anniversary of Radio Broadcasting in India, Akashvani Kohima successfully organized an Essay Writing Competition, Health Camp and Hindi Song competition on 26th September 2025.

 As part of the celebration, Akashvani Kohima successfully organized an Essay Writing Competition to engage young minds and promote the legacy of public service broadcasting on 26th September 2025 held at PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kohima.

The competition was specifically tailored for students of Class IX to Class XII. A total of 30 students participated enthusiastically, using the platform to express their ideas, creativity, and perspectives on topics related to radio's past, present and future in the nation.

The primary objectives of the event were to: Commemorate the significant milestone of 90 years of Radio Broadcasting in India. Encourage students to think critically and express themselves through the written word. Foster awareness among the youth about the crucial role of radio in national development and communication.

The event was a significant success, highlighting Akashvani Kohima's commitment to supporting educational and intellectual development within the community as part of its commemorative activities.

Meanwhile, a comprehensive Health Camp was conducted on 26th September 2025 at Akashvani Kohima under the nationwide initiative "Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan" (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family) in collaboration with office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima. The camp was organized to provide accessible medical check-ups and services to all personnel and their families.

The medical team for the camp consisted of 26 dedicated personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima district. The services were well-utilized, with a total of 59 patients (staff members and their families) receiving medical consultations and health checks including testing and screening for Anaemia, NCD, TB, HIV, Hepatitis B.

The camp successfully achieved its goal of providing on-site medical services and consultations promoting awareness regarding health and preventative care, highlighting Akashvani Kohima’s commitment to the welfare and health of its staff and their families.

The Health Camp was executed smoothly and efficiently, reinforcing the importance of regular health monitoring and staff welfare programs.

As part of the program, Hindi Film Song Competition 2025 was also successfully held on 26th September 2025 at Akashvani Kohima Office premises serving as the valedictory function for the annual Hindi Pakhwada celebration 2025. The competition aimed to promote the practical and cultural use of Hindi in official and social spheres.

The competition saw vibrant participation from the staff of Akashvani Kohima and representatives from member offices of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) Nagaland. Participants displayed remarkable talent and passion, presenting popular Hindi film songs. The event started with a welcome address from the Head of Programmes, Smt. Ella Kayina followed by the competition.

Winners of the Hindi Song competition were recognized and felicitated with certificates and prizes. DG Long of 45 Assam Rifles, Prakash Sinha from Office of the Postal Services, Kohima and Dhanpal of 105 Bn BSF were declared first, second and third respectively.

The programme concluded successfully, with officers and staff commending the participants for their performances and emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold such cultural events to foster the use of Hindi.
