National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was celebrated at Zubza with the theme "Give the gift of life, Donate Blood" on 2nd October 2025. Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Akhlae Vizol Khamo, who graced the program as the Guest of Honour said National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is observed on October 1st to highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. She said voluntary blood donation helps patients in need of surgery, accident victims, and those with life-threatening conditions.
MD, Transfusion Medicine of Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima Dr. Avila Sangtam highlighted the importance of blood donation. She said it is important to donate blood to ensure Safe Blood Supply and added that regular donations, ensures a stable blood supply reducing the risk of transmitted diseases.
She mentioned that a regular blood donation fosters a sense of community spirit and solidarity among individuals contributing to a common cause.
Technical supervisor NHAK, Vincent Yhome chaired the program. A short note on motivational talk was shared by CMO SG (commdt), Dr. Sangita Mary Raja.
Altogether 21 donors donated their Blood during the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day celebration.
