The Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, held a programme for the launching of PM Dhan–Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses at the Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima on 11 October 2025.

Delivering the keynote address, V. Shanshank Shekhar, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Government of Nagaland, spoke on the objectives of the new initiatives and their potential impact on the farming community. He said that under the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, 100 low productivity districts including Mon district from Nagaland have been selected. 

In his short speech, MLA and Advisor for Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, Mhathung Yanthan, underscored the importance of government's interventions in strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting farmers through sustainable policies.

The programme was chaired by Sanuzo Nienu, Director of Agriculture. In his welcome note, he extended greetings to all the dignitaries and participants, highlighting the significance of the schemes in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring self-reliance in pulses production.

Vote of Thanks was proposed by Medovilie Ladu, Addl. Director of Agriculture-II.

The formal programme was followed by the live streaming of the national launch of the PM Dhan–Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, along with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of over 1100 projects under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Food Processing sectors by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
