The SDPDB Bhandari, held its meeting at the conference hall of Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari on 16th December 2025.

In an opening remark, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman SDPDB, Bhandari Longasen Lotha, NCS, lauded the Bhandari based officers and staffs for diligently serving the public over the course of the year.

In the meeting the Deputy Director, Nagaland State Seed Farm, Merapani, Lawrence, appraised the house that a commotion and ensuing scuffle took place on 14th December, 2025 at the State Seed Farm, Merapani, which was brought under control with the intervention of district administration and law enforcement personals from both Nagaland and Assam states.

He also appraised that on 15th December, 2025, some individuals and groups vandalized a part of the State Seed Farm Baptist Church, established in the year 1882 within the State Seed Farm, Merapani, which he said, has since been a peaceful place of worship.

He informed the house that an FIR relating to the matter has been lodged in the nearest Police Stations at Bhandari, Nagaland and Merapani, Assam.

While urging the house to take serious cognizance of the matter where a place of peaceful worship for decades has been vandalized and desecrated, Deputy Director also appealed to all concerned not to take law into their own hands.

While the house was in deliberation of issues relating to Nagaland State Seed Farm, Merapani, ADC and Vice Chairman, SDPDB Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, advised the department to impose total ban on hunting within the State Seed Farm to maintain peaceful environment within the area.

During the meeting the house also proposed and accepted to create 'Officers Club Bhandari' in order to foster and promote a common goal and to reach and serve the public better.
