The monthly Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on 19th January 2026 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by ADC Mokokchung, Atsungba Walling. The session commenced with an invocation prayer by the Principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
The meeting began by reviewing the meeting minutes and action-taken reports from the previous meeting to ensure administrative continuity. The meeting deliberated significantly on finalizing the work distributions for the upcoming 77th Republic Day celebrations, ensuring all departmental responsibilities are aligned for the national event.
In a major move to boost urban sanitation, the DPDB announced a "Cleanest Ward" competition across the four Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the district: Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), Changtongya, Tuli, and Mangkolemba. Scheduled for March 2026, the initiative will feature cash prizes for the top three performing wards under MMC and the top two wards from each of the other three ULBs. This incentive program aims to foster community participation in maintaining hygiene and environmental standards across the district’s urban centres.
