Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Social Justice & Empowerment, B. L. Verma, visited the Palm Oil plantation site at Chümoukedima Village and the Health and Wellness Centre at Diphupar B, Chümoukedima district, Nagaland on 22nd of January 2026.

During his visit to the palm oil plantation, the Minister interacted with local farmers and officials, reviewing the progress of cultivation under the National Edible Oil - Oil Palm initiative. He emphasized the importance of palm oil cultivation in enhancing farmers’ income, promoting self-reliance in edible oil production, and strengthening the rural economy of the region.

At the Health and Wellness Centre, Diphupar B, Verma inspected the facilities and interacted with healthcare workers. He took stock of the services being provided and highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
