The 77th Republic Day was celebrated at Meluri on 26th January 2026 with Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse gracing the occasion as the Special Guest.
She unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents of Village Guards of Lephory post, Ex. Servicemen of Meluri, Christian Higher Secondary School Meluri, St. Xavier Higher Secondary School Meluri, Government Higher Secondary School Meluri and VG Pipe Band of Meluri.
The special guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls installed by various departments and Self Help Groups. Other highlights of the day included a special presentation by Project 5 PM and a cultural dance by Meluri Women Society.
