Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 7th February 2026, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom NCS, at DPDB hall, Longleng.
Welcoming the gathering, the chairman said that Frontier Nagaland Territory Authority (FNTA) has concluded an agreement with the Government of India and the state government, spearheaded by the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO) on 5th February 2026. While details of the agreement are yet to be disclosed, officials are gearing up for its implementation, the DC urged officers posted in the territory to be prepared for assignments and implementation of the agreement, and pointed out that "Without proper execution, all efforts will go in vain".
Heads of Departments (HODs) and Officers-in-Charge have been reminded to work diligently, as an interim body is expected to be formed within a year. The agreement aims to benefit the Eastern people of Nagaland, and officials were urged to ensure its successful implementation. After the review of the previous meeting minutes, the chairman informed that, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare will be visiting the district this month. He therefore informed all departments particularly the Agri. & Allied departments to be well prepared for discussions and to present their departmental activities through PowerPoint presentation.
Principal of Bautung Government Higher Secondary School and Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Longleng presented their report to the board. They highlighted the activities and status of the ongoing construction of Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, and District Hospital Longleng.
The department of Horticulture presented the department’s projects and activities implemented in the district during the meeting. The chairman entrusted the department of Agriculture to present the activities of the department in the next DPDB meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
