Chumoukedima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of March was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Chumoukedima on March 10, 2026 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB Chumoukedima, Polan John, NCS.
    During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) welcomed all members present and urged them to actively participate and engage in the DPDB meetings. 
    The board reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting and deliberated on various matters concerning the district. In this regard, the DC sought recommendations from the concerned departments on whether partial riverbed mining on Chathe River could be permitted or if the existing total ban should continue. The board also recommended registration of society Grace Family Foundation at Virazouma.
    Among other agendas, the board members recommended updating the nomenclature of Passport Seva Kendra office from Dimapur to Chumoukedima and deliberated on the development of Chumoukedima Town Cemetery. The meeting also discussed financial literacy initiatives in the district in connection with the MoU signed between the State Government and State Bank of India. Further, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on the constitution of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) in all departments under the provisions of the POSH Act and urged all departmental offices in the district to ensure compliance. Additionally, he briefed the House on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), directing all Heads of Department (HODs) to align their departmental action and development plans with the SDG targets. 
    Orenponi Yanthan, Dy. Commissioner of State Taxes on behalf of the Department of Taxes gave a Power Point Presentation about the department and the activities being carried out in the district. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Commissioner. The meeting was attended by DPDB members, civil society organisations and other officials of the district.
