Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma IAS, along with Sr SP Mokokchung Vesupro Kezo (NPS) and other Governmental Officials visited Mangmetong village on 4th April 2026 for a coordination meeting with the village council members in connection to the forthcoming Bye Election of 28 (ST) Koridang Assembly constituency at Panchayat Phavan Mangmetong Village.
Deputy Commissioner while interacting with the members reiterated that village council is an authorized institution under the Government, the council members should therefore function beyond any restriction while carrying out their responsibilities in connection to this Bye Election. He urged the council members   to be judicious while performing their duties. He also added that as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) as laid down by the Election Commission of India (ECI) has been enforced, all the governmental electioneering machinery is responsible to take every measure to provide an environment for a Free and Fair conduct of the election procedure
Nockpai Konyak, SDO (C) Mokokchung and Returning Officer to the Bye Election of 28 (ST) Koridang Assembly Constituency while addressing the meeting added that as the Model Code of Conduct is in effect under the constituency, requested all to adhere to these procedures.
