The inaugural session of a two-day National conference of Reimagining Development and Governance in North-East India (ReD&GoNE 2026) under the theme “Pathways for inclusive and Sustainable Futures”, jointly organized by the Ddepartment of Economics, Political Science and Sociology, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung and sponsored by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAL) Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung was held on 15th April 2026 at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
Prof. Lanu Aier, Retd. Professor, Department of Sociology, NEHU presented keynote address on the conference theme, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. I. Wati Imchen, principal, FAC & patron ReDGoNE 2026.
The resource speaker for the technical session were Amba Jamir, Senior Policy Analyst & Development Strategist Guwahati spoke on “From Frontier to Pivot: Reimagining development and Governance in Peripheral Landscapes”; Prof. T.T Haokip, Professor, Department of political Science, North-Eastern Hill University spoke on “Federalism and the Crisis of Governance in Northeast India, the Case of Manipur and Meghalaya” and Dr. Limakumba Walling Assistant Professor, School of Economics, University of Hyderabad spoke on ‘Overcoming the Permanent Transition Trap: Reimagining development in Nagaland”.
Parallel paper presentation sessions, featuring scholarly contribution with focus on diverse topics were conducted.
