The monthly meeting of the Mon District Planning & Development Board for the month of April 2026 was held on 23rd April, 2026 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon. The Deputy Commissioner Mon and Vice Chairman DPDB, Wennyei Konyak, NCS presided over the proceeding. He welcomed the DPDB members and called upon the new members for self-introduction: Rose Ngullie, DEO Mon and ADC, Tizit, C. Phuniang introduced themselves.
After reviewing the previous meeting minutes, DC opened the discussion on the agenda for 10 feet extension of Foothill road. ADC Aboi, M.S. Thangpong gave a brief overview on the topic and after thorough discussion the house approved and forwarded the proposal to the higher authority.
MLA & DPDB Chairman, Y. Mankhao Konyak proposed the following new roads to be included under Urban road:
a. Construction of District Jail circular road under Zaklum Ward.
b. Construction of District Jail road to Tenak Nalla.
c. Construction of road from GPS Santham to new Judicial Complex.
d. Construction of road from GHSS ‘C’ junction to ADC circular road.
e. Construction of road from old Edith Douglas Junction to Tanlao Ward Nalla.
f. Construction of road from Mission Centre gate to Longwa road (Tammong Village)
g. Construction of road from Mon Sonari road to GPS Jahjon Ward.
h. Construction of road from ADC circular road to GPS Tompang Ward.
i. Construction of ADC approach road via Tanlong Yanlam residence.
j. Construction of Approach road to Gorkha Church and old MS quarter.
k. Construction of road from NH 702 to DBS Higher Secondary School.
The house also discussed the proposal for Creation of GPS at Longwa Lailo Village put forward by Advisor Treasuries & Accounts, Art and Culture, K. Konngam Konyak.
In regard to the application for re-approval of elementary School at Chingai Ward, Mon town DEO Mon was assigned to verify and brief the members in next DPDB meeting.
The house also discussed the proposal put forward by Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Village Guards, C.L. John, on construction of the Public Distribution Centre Store at Chen Town. The house considered it necessary to strengthen storage infrastructure for ensuring efficient handling and distribution of essential commodities in the area, the proposal was approved and forwarded to the higher authority.
The house also discussed the application for registration of Anghlam Sports and Cultural Club under the Nagaland Societies Registration Act 1860. The Board approved and forwarded it.
The DC requested the Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary departments to prepare power point presentations on their departmental activities in the upcoming DPDB meeting.
ADC Mon, Pakon Phom reminded the house regarding the table top exercise scheduled on 29th April, 2026 and requested the members to actively participate in the event.
