The distribution programme of Assistive Devices to Senior Citizens was organized by the Artificial Limbs manufacturing corporation of India (ALIMCO) in association with Social Welfare Department, supported by District Administration, Kiphire was held at Hopongku Memorial Hall, Kiphire on 14th July 2026. The program was chaired by CDPO Pungro, Shenlithong Makory.

In his short speech, EAC Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, NCS emphasized on the schemes, offering free mobility aids, hearing aid, and rehabilitation kits for the persons with disabilities. He also said that the government is strengthening welfare programmes, improving accessibility and expanding support system for vulnerable group. He extended his appreciation to ALIMCO for serving person with disability with their technical expertise and commitment ensuring that essential device reached even at the remote district of India.

The beneficiaries from Kiphire Village and Kiphire Town attended the program and avail the facilities provided by the Government. Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Talitula, AWW Kiphire Town, while the welcome address was delivered by District Programme Officer (DPO) Kiphire, Vekhoto Tetseo. Keynote address & Technical briefing was presented by the ALIMCO Representative, and was followed by Ceremonial Distribution, handing over of selected assistance devices to a few token beneficiaries on stage by the dignitaries.  Hearing aid, wheel chair with bucket, walking stick were distributed.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Vitoli, Supervisor, ICDS Project, Kiphire. Dignitaries present in the program were Prakash Singh Manager, Sobana Devi, Audiologist Guwahati, Supongwati Jamir P & O Dimapur, Wabangchuba, EDP Dimapur and Temjenchuba, USW Dimapur. Besides, public leaders, GBs and Officials from Kiphire Village and Town attended the program.
