The Nagaland Pickleball Masters 2026 concluded with a grand closing and prize distribution ceremony held at The Fitness House, Nagaland, on 25th July 2026. Organised by the Nagaland Pickleball Association, the tournament was presented by Niathu Group in collaboration with The Fitness House, Nagaland.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor for Agriculture and MLA, as the chief guest. In his address, he congratulated all participants, winners, and runners-up for their performance and sportsmanship. He appreciated the Nagaland Pickleball Association for successfully organising the tournament and promoting the emerging sport in the State. He also acknowledged the efforts of the organisers, sponsors, referees, technical officials, volunteers, and supporters for making the event a success.
Yanthan highlighted the growing popularity of pickleball in Nagaland, describing it as an inclusive sport suitable for all age groups. He noted that the game, which combines elements of tennis, table tennis, squash, and badminton, is gaining rapid acceptance in the State. He also expressed optimism that such sporting events would help build stronger sports infrastructure and create more opportunities for youth under the leadership of Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
Abu Metha, speaking at the event, thanked the chief guest for attending despite his busy schedule and appreciated his encouragement towards sports development. He lauded the efforts of the Nagaland Pickleball Association and The Fitness House team for conceptualising and successfully hosting the tournament. He also acknowledged the contribution of sponsors and organisers in promoting pickleball in the State.
Metha said pickleball has grown rapidly in Nagaland, bringing together people from different age groups and backgrounds. He noted that local players are now competing at national levels and bringing recognition to the State. He also highlighted the unifying power of sports, stating that it promotes discipline, teamwork, and friendship.
He further informed that players from various parts of the country, including Mumbai, Kolkata, and Guwahati, participated in the tournament, with some national and international-level players also taking part. He expressed confidence that Nagaland would soon produce national and international champions in pickleball.
The organisers expressed gratitude to all sponsors, including Metro Group, Borah Brands, and Mahindra, for their support in making the event possible. They also thanked the visiting players for their participation and contribution to the success of the championship.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation across various categories, reflecting the growing popularity of pickleball in Nagaland. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the sport further by hosting more competitive events in the future.
The programme concluded with the presentation of prizes to the winners, followed by a vote of thanks, marking a successful and memorable conclusion to the Nagaland Pickleball Masters 2026.
