In connection with the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) being undertaken in the State, the Central Post Disaster Needs Assessment Team from MHA, NDMA visited Mon District on 6th October 2026. The team visiting is to assist the concerned Line Departments in the compilation and assessment of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment for Mon District.

During the short meeting held at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon, the Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak welcomed the Central team and highlighted the damage caused by the Monsoon 2026. All the line Departments briefed the damaged caused by the Monsoon respectively and submitted the report copy to the central team.

The central team were comprised of Mickey Mecon Dalbehera, Scientist E, CBRI Roorkee, Rohit Kumar, Assistant Professor, NIDM, Indranil Bose, Senior Consultant - Infrastructure Sector, Shashank Mishra, Lead Consultant, NDMA, Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, NIDM, C.P. Mohan, Senior Consultant- Productive Sector, Ms. Chandani P C Senan, Senior Consultant, NDMA and L. Jonhibemo Odyuo Assistant Manager (Relief, Recovery, and Mitigation) NSDMA.

They encouraged the concerned departments to record all the actual damage.
