The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on 6th October 2026, under the chairperson of MLA, B. Bangtick Phom, at DPDB hall Longleng. The meeting commenced with an introduction of new member.
Reviewing the previous meeting minutes, the board review the establishment of blood storage unit and blood bank received from the medical department. After deliberation, it was forwarded to the higher authority for consideration and final approval. Electrification and installation of new 100kv distribution transformer at the new district hospital building was also discussed. The chairman entrusted the Medical Superintendent to coordinate with the Department for further perusal.
The house also decided to organise a departmental tournament from 29th to 31st October 2026.
The proposal for creation of additional posts in the Police department, received from the police department was also discussed. The board agreed to forward the matter to the higher authority.
The Deputy Commissioner, W. Manpai Phom, NCS, informed the house regarding the visit of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment Central Team at Longleng on 7th October 2026. He urged all the department to collect the data of the damaged property and assessment. He further requested the PWD (R&B), Agri-Allied department and medical department for the presentation during the Governor visit in Longleng on 8th October 2026. He also informed that the Electoral Roll Observer will be visiting the district on 8th October 2026 for interaction with the ERO, AERO, supervisor and BLO.
The department of Urban Development Longleng gave a PowerPoint presentation on sanitization and implementation of solid waste management in Longleng.
The DC also apprised the members on paralympic games to be held next month, where the district will also be participating. The district sports council is preparing for instance training by the end of the month, he added.
Sr. SP Longleng, Yanger Jamir, DEF Longleng, presented the departmental activities through a PowerPoint presentation.
The chairman entrusted the department of Forest for the departmental presentation in the next DPDB meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
