The District Planning & Development Board meeting was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Zunheboto on October 6, 2026, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB, Dharam Raj, IAS.

The meeting reviewed the action taken on decisions and issues raised during the previous DPDB meeting. The Deputy Commissioner informed the Board that, following the suggestion of the DPDB Chairman, the Town Hall has been handed over to Zunheboto Government Higher Secondary School for its use. The meeting also discussed the shortage of graduate teachers at the school.

Dharam Raj further stressed that Heads of Offices (HoOs) should remain stationed at their respective places of posting and attend to their official responsibilities, irrespective of whether a DPDB meeting is scheduled.

On the proposal to establish a library in memory of late L. Sailo, former EAC, Satakha, a brief account of his life and service was presented by EAC Satakha, Imtinungla Longkumer. Late L. Sailo, born on October 15, 1932, was the son of the chief of Lailak village in present day Mizoram. He served as EAC, Satakha, in the 1970s and was killed in an underground ambush along with the then Deputy Commissioner, late K.K. Gupta, IAS, on February 14, 1974, near Shoipu village while on official duty.

The meeting also featured presentations by the District Employment Office and Government ITI, Zunheboto, focusing on employment opportunities and skill development initiatives. The presentation on behalf of Government ITI was delivered by Instructor Er. Bendangwati.
