The District level Training on Registration of Birth & Death, and Civil Registration System (CRS) Functionaries of Registrars, VCCs and Anganwadi Workers was held at ENPO Conference Hall, Tuensang on 7th October 2026. The training was organised by the department of District Economics and Statistical Office Tuensang.

Speaking at the training, Additional Director, Directorate of Economics and statistics, Charles N Kikon, said that the training was organised in order to minimise the thoughts arising after changing the manual registration of Birth and Death to an online system. He informed that every village and Blocks has a Registrar to record, verify and certify the Birth and Death within their jurisdiction. Registration of every child is the first step towards establishing his/her legal identity and every Village Council, ASHA and Anganwadi workers act as a notifier in the designated jurisdiction, he added. He also urged the Trainees to record and certify the Death Certificate, because it is equally important as the Birth Certificate to keep the record for any changes or implementation of Government Schemes.

The Programme was chaired by DESO Tuensang, P. Sokum. The program was attended by Registrars, VCCs, VDBs and Anganwadi workers from Tuensang district.
