The University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India had invited fresh applications (including renewals) from regular and full time students under the following four schemes for the Academic Year 2020- 2021: (1) Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC); (2) PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH); (3) Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER); (4) PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates.
The guidelines of each scheme may be accessed at ‘National Scholarship Portal.’ The students who were eligible and were admitted in the recognised institutions, as per the guidelines, may submit their applications through National Scholarship Portal on its websites- https:// scholarships.gov.in/
The portal was opened since 01.09.2020 and will be opened for receiving applications for ‘Fresh’ as well as ‘Renewals’ as per the following timelines: Closing date for filing online applications by 30th November, 2020; Closing date for verification of applications by Institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications by 15th December, 2020.
According notification issued by Prof. Rajnish Jain, Secretary of UGC vide F. No 82-32/ 2020 (SA- III) dated 29th October, 2020, directed to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions would be able to verify applications for their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal. It would be in the interest of students if all the applications were verified by Institutions by 10th December so that they would able to correct/ rectify the defected applications.
